Bebe Brookman was born in a small town in northern Illinois with an engineer father and artist mother. When she was just 7 years old, she had a surgery to remove infected tonsils. At some point during that surgery, she found herself on the ceiling looking down at her body and the doctors surrounding her little body on the table. She found that from that time on she was able to rise up and view situations from a bird’s eye perspective. When she was 14, her parents were involved in a very serious car accident where her mother was thrown through the car window. She was on the critical list for many weeks. Her dad would pick her up at school and drive to the hospital to see if mom was still alive. Her mother did indeed survive and now talked openly about her near death experience. Communication with non physical beings had became easy and natural for Bebe.
During her high school years, Bebe witnessed her mother having more than 14 surgeries. Her mother relied on her own art to get her through and learned to paint with her left hand as she had lost the use of her right one.
Too much time was spent in hospitals. So it was extra challenging when Bebe’s first daughter was born with a spina bifida that required more hospitals and several 11 hour surgeries for her baby.
Life got busy and she didn’t paint until many years later when she retired from her position as an elementary school teacher. There was so much that needed to come out that all she wanted to do was throw paints around. Her paintings connect her to the unseen world and feel like messages from the subconscious mind. She loves the physical feeling of layering paints and analyzing whatever shows up. She was lucky enough to find Rassouli and fusionart when a friend told her of a dream she had that repeated a word similar to ‘Rassouli’. Her friend did some research about her dream and sent Bebe a message that she may like this artist! ( another example of Bebe’s unseen connections) Bebe spent many Saturdays driving two and a half hours to connect with fusionartists. She loves how she learned that the artist is just the mailman - bringing messages from somewhere for each to interpret for themselves.
